Our Residents live longer, healthier, and happier
About our Residents.
The heart and soul of our home are our elders, they range in age from 56 to 104, from active and mobile to a full assist (two person transfer), from cognate to dementia. 25% are male, 75% are female, each house normally has at least 1 married couple. We do not separate couples because of differences in health or mental abilities. One of life’s greatest joy is to be able to assist in helping one another. It is only through diversity that our ability to reach out and help is maximized. Our elders are helpful, useful members of the community helping each other and the household achieve success.
About our Team Members.
The core of the home is our team members, they range in age from 18 to 66, 25% are male 75% are female. 35% are college educated, 100% are doing this as a calling first and foremost. The diversity and experiences of our team allow them to band together and solve situations quickly and humanely. We attract and grow leaders through our environment and service they are able to provide to the elders. In keeping with their calling they find being in service to the elders rewarding and satisfying. .
About our Family Members.
Our family members are one of our most important assets. They provide mentoring and historical context of their loved one to the house. At almost every meal you can find family members participating, enjoying and helping. Our residents have always lived vicariously through the stories they tell and the world they bring to us. Through their eyes we are best able to understand the elders and how to serve their needs. The children bring joy, the teenagers bring awe, and the adult children wisdom and perspective.
